Let's Talk About What Matters Most

Housing

When it comes to housing, we all deserve a safe, healthy home. I’m committed to making housing a top priority in Independence and believe homeownership is a key part of achieving the American Dream but recognizes that it remains out of reach for too many families. I’ll support policies that increase the supply of diverse housing options, ensuring that homeownership becomes a reality for more families. By addressing the needs of young adults, families, and seniors on fixed incomes, we can create a community where everyone who lives and works in Independence can afford to do so.

Transparency

Independence works best when it works for everyone. To promote transparency and ensure that all voices are heard, I’ll encourage public participation, listen carefully, and hold monthly coffees and constituent meetings. These regular gatherings will provide opportunities for community members to share their concerns and ideas, fostering an open and collaborative environment.

Protecting What Makes Independence Special

I know that prioritizing investments in our parks, library, museum, downtown, and neighborhoods is essential, not just for enhancing the quality of life for Independence residents, but also for driving economic growth and attracting tourism. Thoughtful investments in these areas will benefit the entire community.

Business Growth

The best economies are vibrant and diverse. We can diversify Independence’s local economy by creating an environment where businesses and innovation can flourish. Together, we can build Independence to be a leader in innovative industries and manufacturing, paving the way for future growth and prosperity.

Public Safety

Safe sidewalks, bike lanes, and roads are fundamental to a safe and thriving community. I’lll advocate for transportation and first-responder budgets that ensure Independence is well-prepared for the future, making safety a priority for all residents.

Collaboration

I’ll work with anyone, regardless of party, to help us meet future challenges. There isn’t a Republican or Democratic way to fix a pothole: if there’s a hole, it needs filled.
